Club Policies

Late registration - Skaters registering up to the end of week 4 of any session shall be required to pay the applicable fee in full. Skaters registering in weeks 5-8 of a session will have their fees pro-rated subject to approval of the President, Resgistrar and Treasurer.

Refunds - Registration fees will be refunded in full if a skater is removed from a program within the first two weeks of the session. Refunds are less any volunteer fees, fundraising fees and the $30 Skate Canada registration fee.

Make Up Skating - As a rule, requests for make up sessions for those missed will not be entertained. The only time make up sessions will be permitted is on the occasion where a session is cancelled by the club or when a skater is unable to skate during the session for which he/she has registered due to illness or injury. In such cases, a doctor's note is required. Requests for make up sessions must be approved by the President.

Guest Skating - Guest skating is available during regular Junior and Senior sessions provided there is room on the ice. For safety reasons, the maximum allowable number of skaters on the ice is limited to 20. Requests for guest skating should be made through either the President, Registrar or Music Coordinator. Guest skating fees are $7.50/hr for a skater registered in the current session, $15 for any skater not so registered. Any skaters wishing to guest skate must be registered Skate Canada members and may be asked to provide proof of same before taking the ice. Guest Skating fees are to be paid to the Music Room attendant prior to taking the ice.
Riverview members may also rent ice at a reduced rate. Contact the Newport District Rink for availability and details at 757- 3194.

Unless the rink is closed due to weather or mechanical difficuties, all club programs will proceed as scheduled. That in mind, in the event of weather, the Executive may decide to cancel any session in the interest of the safety of our skaters and their families. Every effort will be made to rechedule sessions or event cancelled by the Club however, due to the limited availablity of ice time, this may not always be possible. Sessions or events cancelled due to rink closure will not be rescheduled.

Questions regarding any of the above policies can be directed to the club using the links found on the Contact Us page.
